Hi
- Or ctrl ESC keys do not function exactly like on the PC. They do not break to the debugger on a modal dialog box. Use ESC ESC (Press the ESC twice) to bring up a dialog that allows you to enter the debugger at the location in code of the dialog box display. Tested in Excel.
- There are many alternatives to Microsoft Office Excel for Mac if you are looking to replace it. The most popular Mac alternative is LibreOffice - Calc, which is both free and Open Source.

As a former excel ninja trained in Office 2003 from my banking days, I've been extremely frustrated using mac's excel (or office 2007 excel for that matter). Microsoft 365 includes premium Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps, 1 TB cloud storage in OneDrive, advanced security, and more, all in one convenient subscription. With Microsoft 365, you get features as soon as they are released ensuring you're always working with the latest. Create, view, edit, and share your spreadsheets using Excel for Mac.
Apple has 'Pages' and 'Numbers' which are able to work with, respectively, Word and Excel files. You can purchase and download both from the App Store in your Dock. Both have the ability to export files as Word and Excel if you need to send files to other people who don't have Macs. Each is $20. Best virus software for mac.
Or, you can purchase Microsoft Office for Mac 2011, which contains both Word and Excel. You can purchase and download it from the Microsoft website. It's $120 per computer, or $150 for three computers.

In Windows, when I want to select several non-consecutive items in a list, I hold the ctrl key and click the items I want. If I want a range of consecutive items, I hold the ctrl AND shift key and click on the first and the last item and windows highlights everything in between.
On the Mac, I hold the command key (clover thing) and click to select non-consecutive items, but is there anything equivalent to the Ctrl-shift (to select a lot of consecutive things with individually clicking each one)?
Thanks.
